FAQ’s

“One thing I can say: whosoever inquires, finds. It is absolutely certain; it has never been otherwise. Nobody has come empty-handed from an authentic inquiry

  1. Who is Osho Friends Foundation
Osho Friends Foundation registered under the provisions of the Maharashtra Public Trust Act. (Here off Trust). We are a gathering of Osho disciples, friends and admirers proliferating Osho Work.
  2. The Objectives/ Charter
Please see our Charter  for the details of Objectives.
In short, we believe that Osho Samadhi and Osho’s legacy is for the entire mankind. As per Osho’s wish, it should be available to all without any discrimination of cast, creed, religion on the most reasonable and moderate charges.
  3. Why court case?
We tried many times to communicate with the present trustees and the Management team of the Osho Ashram/ Commune. during these years, we have found that all our efforts to settle differences have failed and the trustees and present management team is arrogant and not ready to discuss and resolve these important issues. On the contrary they are continuously misappropriating the funds and properties of Osho Trusts (Foundations). We found out that the present Trustees have illegally siphoned off for more than Rs.800 Crores (…. Milin US $) to their private companies. Hence, unwillingly we had to go to the courts and to various forums to save Osho Samadhi and His Work.
  4. Are you trying to make Sannyas a religion?
The Osho Commune in its current state is a religion. Just by denying Osho Samadhi and removing Osho’s pictures (as the present management team is doing); does not make it a non-religion. On the contrary, presently, it has everything that what, it takes to make a religion i.e. fear, rules, suppression, serious and controlled atmosphere and responses. On the contrary, it would be impossible to make a religion out of a place, where love, freedom, dancing and singing can co-exist with all the diversity of the sannyasins around the world.
  5. Are you trying to bring the past back? You say it is an Ashram?
We don’t care by what name the place is called, it’s just a name. Whatever it is past cannot be brought back, but a new fresh beginning is never too late. We just need to get together and start a fresh. We want a gathering space of friends which is singing, dancing, creative and meditative. This place have much more to share to the world and that is what we intend to do – “Sharing Osho”We also believe that all the daily income, funds and properties should be deposited in favor of the Public Charitable Trusts that is created by Osho; (Namely Rajneesh Foundation now known as Neo Sannyas Foundation). There is no need to siphon off the funds and properties belonging to the Trust in favor of the private companies of the present trustees and the few members of the Management Team.
  6. Why are you spreading negativity?
We are being positive for our master Osho and the place we all have created. We are against the present management team and the trustees who are working against Osho’s wish and damaging work of Osho. Power corrupts; we think the current management is corrupt and blind in their power. Raising your voice for truth is not spreading negativity.
  7. Osho appointed these people?
Osho appointed twenty one people in His Inner Circle, now there are just two left to rule. The other nineteen people just left or forced to leave on false and fabricated reasons and some even got banned. We have asked this question so many times- to recreate inner circle, but the present rulers do not want to have broader base in decision making. The present trustees and management team have chosen to; secret selling of ashram land, take debt and just spend ruthlessly on fighting cases against the Osho sannyasins, illegally transfer money and properties of the trust in the private companies of the present trustees and deny existence of Osho Samadhi by filing a false affidavit in the Court. Do you think that for such abused of power, Osho was choosing them!
  8. Why not let the place die?
We respect your decision that this place is no longer important for you. We think it’s possible to make this place gathering friends which will be alive again, full of life, dance and music with diversity. We are all different and we come together at this place to sing, dance and most importantly experience the way of living and dying Osho is talking about.Generally, we have come across two responses from some old Osho Sannyasins in respect to our efforts that:

    1. Ashram/commune/resort can die – we have had our time, look inside, it’s no longer important for us, new people are anyway having fun (even when they are not many who could come inside the commune due to unaffordable entry fees)
We find that our responses could be more sensible. If you think that the Ashram was to die then, Osho would not have chosen to make his Samadhi. Nor he would have asked to make a new Osho Auditorium, Basho, Osho Teertha park nor he would asked us to change marble of his bedroom, create swimming pool and Osho Guest House etc. While we look at the spectrum and expansion of Osho’s guidance, it is clear that he wanted this place to grow and to be available to anyone who seeks his blessings. Please remember His last words (refer Sw. Amrito’s speech after Osho had left body) saying: “Create rooms for my people to contribute!”
    2. I am here to meditate and not enter into politics. There is corruption everywhere. How can I oppose against such powerful management team.
We all are here to meditate and celebrate. But closing the eyes like an Ostrich and allow someone to dominate us is escaping from our responsibilities. What will you do when someone behaves dictatorial in your family or in your office? Certainly you will not allow them to rule over you. The same responses will be applied here as well!
    3. The last and the least: Osho has asked us to be aware inside and outside both. Osho was always against the old Indian Mantra of “Bhrama Satya – Jagat Mithya!” (Only the inner is real and the world is an illusion). He wanted us to live totality both the inwardly as well as outwardly.
  9. What is your vision for the place?
    1. Easy access to Osho Samadhi, meditations, work meditation and group therapies – Making the place welcoming for Meditation, group therapies for leaders and participants
    2. Make Osho’s words available at the most reasonable cost.
    3. As per Osho’s wish, any publisher who wants to publish Osho’s books, audios, videos etc, should be allowed on the zero percentage royalties, and the publisher is directed to print good quality of books at the reasonable costs.
